We regret to inform you of the sad demise of Marhum Gulamhusein Ramzanali Juma Sumar of London who passed away yesterday in Mumbai.

Marhum was originally from Zanzibar and a past resident of Stockholm, Sweden and past president of Märsta Stockholm Jamaat. He was the beloved husband of Ashraf Bai Sumar, the father of Qawsarali Sumar and Qazimali Sumar, father-in-law of Tahera Sumar and Fatima Sumar and the grandfather of Isa Ali, Ali Hussain, Hussain, Sakinah, and Abbas.

Marhum was also the eldest brother of Batul Hirji (UK), Zainab (Jenny) Kassam (Canada), Hamida Muraj (UK), Munira Sumar (UK), Latifa Jamal (Canada), Ashrafbanu Fazal (Sweden), Dr. Gulammehdi Sumar (UK), Mansura Noor (Sweden), and Gulamabbas Sumar (Sweden

The funeral will Inshallah take place in Mumbai on Wednesday 12th November 2025.

Mu’mineen are requested to recite Sura-e-Fateha for the Marhum and recite Salaatul Wahshat/Hadiya-e-Mayyit tomorrow, Wednesday 12th November after Maghribain prayers
