Pursuant to clause 8.1 of The KSIMC of London’s constitution, the Executive Committee (EC) hereby gives notice today, Friday 8th May 2026, for an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to be held on Sunday 31st May 2026 at 10:30, at Husaini Islamic Centre, Wood Lane, Stanmore, Middlesex HA7 4LQ, to discuss the following items:
1. Recitation of the Holy Quran and translation thereof
2. Election of the Electoral Commission
These matters need to be discussed in advance of the next AGM for the following reason(s):
The community was unable to elect a new Electoral Commission at the last AGM as it was required to do by Rule 7.9 of the Constitution. As such, with an election occurring 2 weeks before the next AGM, a new set of Electoral Commissioners need to be elected. Members are reminded that interested candidates will be able to stand on the day. Members are also advised to take note of Rule 7.6:
Rule 7.6: “The Electoral Commission shall consist of five electoral commissioners, at least one of whom must be a woman and at least one of whom must be a man.”
Please ensure your 2026 subscriptions are paid up should you wish to participate and vote at this EGM. Light refreshments will be served.
