The role that can be played by Mosques and Imams towards the development of the Muslim community in Britain and towards the wider community has been debated nationally. MINAB is a National organisation, which plans to provide guidance on good practice to both Mosque and Imam’s to prepare them, and to assist in self-regulating as per their draft documentation.
Come and have your say on how MINAB should develop!
Find out about what MINAB is really all about?
The Mosques and Imams National Advisory Board (MINAB) was formally launched on 27 June 2006. The MINAB is an advisory and facilitatory body. It will facilitate self-regulation through getting consensus from members to develop quality standards, to which members will aspire towards. Its advisory role will be to provide guidance and build capacity of members to move towards achievement of the standards. It is an independent body which aims to work with and represent all Muslim traditions and schools of thought.
The first stage of creating the MINAB is a national consultation, which sought views from the grassroots. CoEJ has organised a consultation afternoon with the MINAB Steering Committee to ensure that our feedback and concerns are heard by the Committee.
The Draft Standard and Constitution can be found at www.minab.org.uk
We hope to see you all on Sunday, 27 April 2008 to ensure that all our concerns, feedbacks and comments are heard by the Steering Committee present on the day.
