Resident Aalima AppointmentIn: Ladies News
The KSIMC of London is pleased to announce that it has appointed Sister Masuma Jaffer as its Resident Aalima.
For some time, the Executive Committee has been keen to cater more specifically to the needs and requirements of the female members of the community. This appointment is a significant step forward to address those needs and it is hoped that the Resident Aalima will provide a source of knowledge, guidance and support.
Sister Masuma Jaffer is eminently qualified to undertake this position, having completed both her BA and MA in Islamic Studies, as well as further studies in Qum. She is also a qualified Muslim Chaplain and has a diploma in Counselling.
The Resident Aalima will undertake the following main functions:
1. Devise and implement a programme of classes and seminars for all sections of the female community during the daytime and evenings, covering a variety of areas including Aqaid, Akhlaq, Fiqh and Quran Tafseer
2. Hold a weekly surgery where female members can meet the Resident Aalima in person to discuss any questions or issues
3. Answer questions from female members via a dedicated email account
4. Provide counselling and welfare support to female members of the community
In order to ensure that classes and seminars are best suited to the needs of the female members of the community, please can you complete this (very short!) survey to let us know which subject areas you are interested in and when you are able to attend.
The programme of classes and seminars will Inshallah commence in January 2017 and full details will be available on the Jamaat website in due course.
