إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ‬‎

We send our heartiest condolences to our holy 12th Imam (ATF) and the entire Muslim Ummah, on the sad demise of Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Sadiq al-Rouhani (1926 – 2022), aged 96.

Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Sadiq al-Rouhani was a senior student of Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Abul-Qasim al-Khoei, and was a distinguished theologian and jurist based in Qum, Iran.

Among the great books written by Ayatullah Rouhani, his most renowned work, entitled ‘Fiqh al-Sadiq’ is a multi-volume encyclopaedia on Islamic jurisprudence and legal theory. In a letter of condolence hand-written by Grand Ayatullah Sayyid ‘Ali al-Sistani, he was described as a ‘noble individual’ whose ‘valuable’ intellectual legacy ought to be compensated by students and scholars of the sacred Islamic sciences.

The Muslim Ummah has once again lost a great scholar. Let us remember Ayatullah Rouhani and all our deceased scholars with a Suratul Fatiha.
