Resignation of the President

In: Committees, Hujjat

19th Rabiul Awal 1443/26th October 2021

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

Respected Scholars, My dear Elders, Brothers and Sisters

Salamun Alaikum Warahamtuallahi Wa Barakatuh

Inshallah, I pray you and your families are well.

I write to my community, having spent a considerable amount of time reflecting and having considered all possible options and ramifications for my community and myself. The last few months have been extremely difficult and challenging for me on personal matters, despite the amazing support extended to me by my team.

I strongly believe that our community needs a leader that can dedicate sufficient and focussed time at this juncture to take the community forward.

Given the workload of Jamaat affairs presently, especially in these unprecedented times and circumstances, I would not be doing justice to my team and my community by carrying on whilst not being fully focused on delivering to the best of my ability, which is currently being curtailed due to my personal circumstances.

Having said that, Alhamdullilah, we have been making some excellent progress in relation to the Hujjat renovations and Insurance claim. Insha’Allah as highlighted in the October update the property team are well placed to provide the membership with comprehensive options incorporating the restoration works along with the wider development plan. Insha’Allah, these will be discussed at the Extraordinary General Meeting before the end of the year. At this meeting, the property team will present all possible options for a final decision to be made by the community.

The Executive Committee are also exploring alternative options in restarting programmes at our centre by utilising the ground floor as soon as reasonably possible. Inshallah, they will provide an update in due course.

We were honoured to have the presence of Mawlana Syed Asad Jafri in the last few majalises along with a number of informal discussions with community members and volunteer groups.

I would like to thank Sheikh Abbas Ismail for his constant hard work in his search for a Resident Alim for our community. Once there is any concrete news on this front Inshallah it will be shared by the Executive Commitee.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to each one of you at every level for your overwhelming support and confidence at the elections and till to-date. I pray that you will continue your support in the same manner with the current team so they can continue to bring to fruition the property plans and other tasks until the end of this term.

I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to my team members for their immense hard work since we took office and wholeheartedly took on the unprecedented challenges faced due to covid and property refurbishment plans. The team has worked diligently and constantly coming up with creative ideas to keep our community members engaged in different ways including the successful running of both the Muharram Ashras and up to the Khushali Programme of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) at our centre along with the continued live programmes at Al Zahra Centre. May Allah (SWT) bless them and reward them amply for their sacrifices. Ameen.

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our community and without their selfless dedication we would not be able to function efficiently. I would like to thank each and every volunteer from the bottom of my heart in every department and capacity for their untiring work and dedication in serving the community. I pray to Allah (SWT) to increase their Tawfiq even more in this noble cause. Ameen.

It is therefore with a heavy heart and deep regret that, due to personal reasons,

I tender my resignation as the President of Hujjat KSIMC of London with immediate effect.

I would like to make a humble and personal request to you all that if I have said anything, done anything wrong or hurt your feelings in any way, please find it in your loving heart to forgive me.

I thank Allah (SWT) for being blessed with this opportunity to serve my wonderful community for HIS pleasure only. It has been a huge honour to serve this great community and Insha’Allah I pray with the Wasilah of Ahlulbayt (A.S.) and Bibi Zainab (S.A.) the very best future for our community. Ameen.

Let us pray for Shifa for all those who are unwell, especially our Parents, Elders and Community Members and let us remember our Marhumeen with a Sura Fateha.

AL FATEHA.

With Salaams and Lots of Duas

Hamid Pirbhai
