This year, we would like to introduce Ramadhan HMS Angels- a new and exciting initiative aimed at spreading kindness, friendship, and joy during the holy month of Ramadhan for the mothers within our community.

Here’s how it will work:

Each participant will be given the name of another HMS member- you will be this person’s ‘Angel’ for the month.

The person who you are an Angel for will not be the same person who will be your Angel. This means that by the end of the month, you will have made two new connections inshAllah- the one who you ‘give’ to, and the one you will ‘receive’ from.

Throughout the month of Ramadhan, you will connect with your assigned person and perform various acts of kindness for them.

These acts of kindness are not limited to material gifts, they can include any gestures of support and friendship, such as a weekly check-in message, cooking them a meal, sitting together at mosque, or even a simple (but very powerful!) act of Du’a or Sadaqah on their behalf.

We will try our best to pair you with someone who lives local to you, but as HMS membership is all inclusive and open to everyone regardless of location, you may be paired with someone further away, perhaps even in a different city (or country!) In this case, you’ll have to get extra creative with the ways in which you can build a friendship and make your person feel supported during this month.

Towards the end of the month after the Amaal nights, we will all come together for a HMS meetup (details to be confirmed closer to the time) where we can share our experiences, reflect on the acts of kindness we have received, and celebrate the beautiful bonds and friendships we’ve formed over the holy month.

We truly believe that small acts of kindness and gestures can make a big difference (particularly for new mothers!), and Ramadhan Angels is an opportunity for us to embody the true spirit of the month by spreading love, generosity, and compassion within our community. Let’s make this Ramadhan a truly special and meaningful month!
