Further to the recent EGM held on Sunday 29 April 2018, the attached document (download here) now contains the updated Constitution of The KSIMC of London.
In line with clause 9 of the Constitution, notice is hereby given by the Executive Committee of a Special General Meeting (SGM) to be held on Saturday 10 February 2018 at 8pm at the Husaini Shia Islamic Centre, Stanmore, HA7 4LQ (the “Centre”), to transact the following:
1) Recitation of the Holy Qur’an and the English translation thereof 2) Consideration and adoption of the following resolution relating to building works needed on our Centre: “The General Body of The KSIMC of London (KSIMC), hereby resolve to give the Executive Committee (EC), the mandate to approve the works on the external walls of the Husaini Shia Islamic Centre in Stanmore for a sum of no more than £50,000.”
The Executive Committee has been advised that the building works on the Centre should commence as soon as possible due to safety concerns. In line with clause 9, the Executive Committee feel it is therefore in the community’s interest to hold this discussion before the 21 days required for an EGM. A Special General Meeting has thus been called.
Registration will commence at 7:45pm. Both Male and Female members are encouraged to attend.
In order to comply with Data Protection, the CVs of individual members of the Executive Committee for the term 2017 – 2019 will be emailed to you, along with the manifesto of the President, Dr Munir Datoo. Please do not publish these on public forums where non-members of our community may have access to them, but keep them for your own personal use only.
Pursuant to s7.4.2 of The Constitution, the Electoral Commission declares that all the positions for the Executive Committee standing in the December 2017 elections are uncontested. Subsequently no election will be held on Sunday 17th December 2017, and the Electoral Commission declares the following as the new Executive Committee of KSIMC of London:
The Electoral Commission is satisfied that the electoral process has been conducted in a free and fair manner. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome the incoming team and offer our thanks to the outgoing Executive Committee.
In line with clause 9 of the Constitution, notice is hereby given by the Executive Committee of a Special General Meeting (SGM) to be held on Sunday 19 November 2017 at 8pm at the Husaini Shia Islamic Centre, Stanmore, HA7 4LQ, to transact the following:
1) Recitation of the Holy Qur’an and the English translation thereof
2) Consideration and adoption of the following resolution relating to the lease on our property on Grosvenor Vale, known as “the Ruislip Property”:
With regards to our property in Ruislip on Grosvenor Vale, we, the General Body of The KSIMC of London (KSIMC), hereby resolve to give the Executive Committee (EC), the mandate to negotiate and finalise a contract:
Granting a new lease for a term of 5 years to Wealdstone Football Club (2000) Limited in relation to the whole of the 12.189 acres of the Grosvenor Vale Property, which is currently leased to Ruislip Manor Sports and Social Club Limited. As part of this new lease, we will be
a. Establishing a right to use at a reasonable notice on the 8.689 acres (non-football stadium part) during the new 5-year lease term granted to Wealdstone Football Club (2000) Limited at a nominal/peppercorn rent (£nil).
b. Creating an option which enables KSIMC, upon three months’ notice (at no cost) to call for a surrender of this new lease by Wealdstone Football Club upon which KSIMC will immediately grant a lease back to Wealdstone Football Club for 3.5 acres (football stadium part) for a term equal to the remainder of the term of this new lease plus five more years.
In line with clause 9, the Executive Committee feel it is in the community’s interest to hold this discussion before the 21 days required for an EGM as this will put us into the busy Christmas period when participation in any discussion will be lower. Contractual reasons dictate a resolution to this matter is preferable before the end of 2017 and negotiations have only recently concluded yielding a Heads of Terms document in line with the above. A Special General Meeting has thus been called.
Registration will commence at 7:45pm. Both Male and Female members are encouraged to attend.
Following the recent EGMs held on Sunday 8th and Friday 13th October, the attached document now contains the updated Constitution for The KSIMC of London.
Notice is hereby given by the Executive Committee, in accordance with Clause 8.1 of the Constitution, that the adjourned Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of The KSIMC of London from Sunday 8 October 2017, will continue on Friday 13 October 2017, at 8.00pm at the Husaini Islamic Centre, Wood Lane, Stanmore, Middlesex, HA7 4LQ, to continue with the following agenda:
AGENDA 1. Recitation from the Holy Quran 2. Discussion of proposed amendments to the constitution attached (Pages 3-33) 3. Discussions of the proposed motion attached (Page 34)
The reasons for calling this EGM follow from the feedback received by members at the recent Shura Meeting held on Sunday 30 July 2017 as well as discussions held at the last AGM on Sunday 4 June 2017. With the passing of the new Constitution on 26 March 2017, a number of issues were highlighted by members where certain reconsideration or clarification of clauses and rules were required. It is the EC’s opinion that the proposed amendments be debated and discussed and clarifications and improvements be made to the Constitution.
Please note that on 5th October 2017, Br Faiyaz Nurmohamed withdrew his proposed amendments on page 3 and pages 13-14.
With Salaams and Duas
