Hujjat Primary School: Update
News

Dear Members,

Salaamun Alaykum

We are writing to provide you with an update on our school application. At the time of our last communication we were in the process of completing our application to the Department for Education (DfE) for a free school.

We submitted our school proposal to DfE in October 2014. They responded in January of this year, with strong feedback on the areas of our application which met with their approval, as well as constructive advice on those which merited further consideration. Overall the DfE were very positive about our application, and highly recommended we put in a second submission.

Since then, we have been working tirelessly to strengthen our proposal. This includes recruiting personnel with the appropriate expertise and building cross-community and grassroots backing. On the recommendation of the DfE, we have applied to and since won the support of the New Schools Network (NSN). NSN is a charity which provides a range of services to help applicants develop their proposals and write effective applications.

It is imperative we build a strong and robust network of advocats, both inside and outside of the community framework. We are very pleased therefore to report that our project has gained support amongst other faith groups, who recognise the need for a high-performing school grounded in the values of Islam and which will aid integration, foster cohesion and promote a better understanding of our faith across the community.

We expect to have a further update for you later in the summer regarding the status of our application. In the meantime, we would be grateful if you could take the time to fill in our online survey form. This will help demonstrate to the DfE the need for a free school in Harrow. The link to the survey is here: http://www.hujjatschool.org/support-us/

Lastly, please do get in touch should you have any family members or friends who hold or have held senior positions of leadership within a primary school (SLT) as this will greatly assist our application.

Please remember us in your duas.
